Pictures of David-Horodok in the Holocaust Memorial Center - Detroit

Generations show what the years miss. The small changes to our hectic lives seem important, until they are put in the context of the great changes that have taken place over the past century. These photos remind us that while at the the end of the 20th century, we live in Israel or North America, among the most sophisticated populations in the world, at the beginning of the century we hailed from David-Horodok, a small shtetl in southern Belarus.

All these photos were taken in David-Horodok prior to the Shoah. While the Shoah obliterated our physical roots, we can still remember them.
